I am Reborn

50721813_347499499177660_2835774473834070016_n.jpg

I am reborn

Emerging from the womb of this ancient lake

There is space, where space was not before

My limbs feel softer, my mind clear

I notice the depth & clarity of my breathe, gentle and smooth

Desires, now absent

I don’t feel elated with feelings of joy

Neither do I feel the burdens of any emotions

It’s a blank canvas

I am a blank canvas

When I approached the water, I did so with reverence

Taking a moment to witness her in all her beauty

50989348_535670273607438_891782278919749632_n.jpg

Feeling the sacredness

Feeling the invitation to enter

Like all manifestations of the Feminine

Only to enter upon invitation

The greatest gifts are received, beyond fathom to

recipient who waits

With the invitation I step forward

The warmth of her, embraces me and pulls me in

The darkness of the lake, stained by the ti-trees that surround

Engulfing my body inch by inch

My body melts and merges

Her touch is soft and gentle

Each caress welcoming me home

I glance to where the tall reeds meet the water in the distance

In a momentary flash, I see a man

Indigenous man, bare skinned, with a spear

Amazed I smile .. and whisper Thankyou

The spirits are close

Time and space collapse

Beyond the veil of time, all is present here

I surrender my totality to her

My limbs become weightless

My body suspends, as I float deeper into the void

I loose all my senses

Only the sound of my breathe

Lungs submerged beneath the surface

The darkness penetrates, the warmth sinks beneath the skin

Physicality disperses, only awareness exists here

I am gone

I am free

I am free from the constraints of my body

I am free from the desires of the mind

I am free

The dream begins to fade as I wake up

The faculty of the mind releases

There is no grief

Time unwinds its coil

I am home

Spaciousness, freedom, timelessness

………………………………..

51170985_327029817915975_3306679696099377152_n.jpg

The mother requests my return

The warmth of her waters invites the awakening of senses

I feel my legs, though still weightless

I feel them gently dancing beneath the water

Awareness of my body suspended and held by her calls me back

This Divine vehicle, in all its perfection and beauty

I lover her

This body

Radiant beauty

Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou

I begin to play, moving my limbs in this warm dark womb

Innocence is me

A child of the Universe free to be

This is my rebirth

The shore calls me “you have powerful work to do here”

Gently and slowly I make my journey towards the sandy bank

I’ve gone so far, I floated far and beyond

As I get closer, my feet touch the sandy Earth

For the first time

Walking, I reach the shore where the water ends and land begins

The soft, warm, spaciousness of the lake is behind

51475080_2277011745911634_8163345112877760512_n.jpg

With the firm, hard physicality of manifestation now beneath my feet
The sovereign sand

I breathe into these lungs that I call mine

I am reborn

The food of the future - super strain probiotics, the next evolution of health

pexels-photo-1030870.jpeg

We have heard time & time again, that happiness comes from within, and now research has literally proven that. Experts are explaining how what is going on it your gut, could be affecting your brain. Whilst many of us may have become aware of this, new discoveries and breakthroughs are being made throughout the world.

The awareness around gut health has boomed and is continuing to gain much attention world wide. With superfoods trending, from açai bowls to now Australian bush superfoods, consumers are making health their priority.

With an ever-growing demand for probiotic foods and fermented products, the question arises, what will be the next breakthrough in gut health and food?

As researchers continue to discover the incredible link between our gut microbiome and our mental and physical health it becomes apparent that not all probiotic strains, nor fermented foods are created equal. Ground breaking researching is now surfacing to reveal the powerful super strains of probiotics that could elevate our physical health and happiness to the next level. Simultaneously, research is discovering that some of the health trends, like kombucha could be creating more harm than good.

Happiness comes from within

SSBlog_GutHealth_1400x1050.jpg

To begin to understand the effect of fermented foods and probiotics on our health, we must first grasp the understanding of how the gut and brain connection truly works. If you’ve ever “gone with your gut” to make a decision, you’re likely getting signals from an unexpected source: your second brain.

Hidden in the walls of the digestive system, this “brain in your gut” is revolutionizing medicine’s understanding of the links between digestion, mood, health and even the way you think.

Scientists call this little brain the enteric nervous system (ENS). And it’s not so little. The ENS is two thin layers of more than 100 million nerve cells lining your gastrointestinal tract from esophagus to rectum. Latest research from around the world, including RMIT University is discovering new connections between the brain and gut, including improving the gut bacteria making a difference in the daily life of children with autism.

PLV1.jpg

To coincide with this these revolutionary discoveries, one of the fastest growing trends in Australia is fermented foods, and there is a good reason for it. It was not so long ago, that Australias very first fermenting company Peace Love & Vegetables started their journey to bring “happiness within” their bright & colourful jars of sauerkraut to Australian consumers.

With rapid growth, Peace Love & Vegetables quickly became the biggest fermenting company in Australia, manufacturing not just sauerkraut, coconut kefir and cashew cheeses. “Happiness comes from within” is Peace Love and Vegetables slogan, and it rings a loud bell of truth.

Adam and his wife Anya, the founders of Peace Love & vegetables are passionate to bring gut health awareness Australia wide. Whilst our health is a reflection of what we eat, even furthermore Adam suggest “we are what we digest” with fermenting foods boosting digestion

fermented-food.jpg

With this boom in education around gut health, we have witnessed an exponential growth in fermented foods like kombucha, health bars infused probiotics, vegan coconut ice-cream with probiotic strains and an array of companies making sauerkraut.

Looking back on Australian food history, we have come a long way from our iconic sausage rolls and meat pie with tomato sauce and fizzy drink days.

Australian consumers are now more savvy than ever, becoming highly educated on their food choices, creating a demand for the most cutting-edge products and foods.

The next big breakthrough is here SUPER STRAINS probiotics

With this rapid growth in fermented foods, we return to the question, what will be the next breakthrough in gut health and food? Here it is, introducing the super strains of probiotics. As opposed to some of the more commonly used probiotic strains, the super strains, such as DDS-1 are leading the way in creating extremely powerful health benefits for all.

The super strain Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1 is one of the most thoroughly studied strains in the industry. With over 35 years of clinical research completed and more to come, this strain stands above the rest. As opposed to other strains of probiotics, DDS-1 is clinically supported through gold-standard randomised double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical research trials, proving powerful health benefits when consumed. This super strain as been proven to inhibit the growth of pathogens, it is able to tolerate harsh conditions such as stomach acid and bile, strong adherence to human intestinal cell lines greatly improving human gut health, immunity and a myriad of benefits.

citric_acid_structure.png

Alongside DDS-1, another super strain worth getting to know is lactobacillus paracasei. In depth research as shown this probiotic strain not only dramatically improves the gastrointestinal tract, but also beneficial l for dental health, improves liver function, improves many aspects of insulin resistance, combats obesity, significantly inhibits colon cancer cell proliferation alongside other cancers, alleviates IBS, reducing abdominal bloating and prolonged abdominal pain in patients with diverticular disease, greatly beneficial for allergies, has anti-bacterial properties, reducing inflammation and enhancing immunity.

Why some fermented foods are dangerous

leaky_cycle.jpg
Kombucha_Mature.jpg

Whilst this is all very exciting, it is important to note that not all  bacteria and probiotics are good for us, and in fact some are detrimental. This is why not all fermented foods are created equal. Many fermented foods utilise a method called wild fermenting.

This method lends itself to allowing the fermenting process, to literally be wild. Also known as  “spontaneous” fermentation is a type of fermentation that uses naturally occurring yeast, lactobacilli, and molds on fruits, vegetables, and grains. What this process results in is a production of random bacteria.

Some of this bacteria can be harmful and detrimental to our gut and health. For example, when lab tested most kombucha contains very high levels of a yeast called Candida albicans. This  is an opportunistic pathogenic yeast that is a common member of the human gut flora.

Whilst it is beneficial in small amounts, it can cause the human infection, candidiasis which results from an overgrowth of the fungus.

Furthermore, fermented foods are one of the biggest sources of histamines. For people that are sensitive to histamines foods like kombucha and other fermented foods can create an inflammatory response in the body.

Whilst this is not widely known or discussed,  the issue of histamines are gaining more attention. Up until now, all fermented foods have contained histamines, however Peace Love & Vegetables are making all their products histamine-free, by using only the super strain probiotics and specific fermentation methods.

The next evolution of food

peace-love-and-vegetables-logo-footer.png

Outside of wild fermentation is another method called inoculation. The inoculation method, is when a specific strain of microbes is purposely put into the ferment to create particular characteristics. Using the inoculation method, Australias first fermenting company, Peace Love and Vegetables passion to be innovative and on the leading edge of health, has propelled them to create the next evolution of food.

After years of research and many months of experimentation, their entire product range will contain the super probiotics. Soon to launch is their market leading probiotic beverage, the coconut kefir “Kefir 11” which will contain 11 of the highest super strain probiotics know on Earth, including the two super strains mentioned above. The founders Adam and Anya are so extraordinary in their innovativeness they are yet to see any company in the world, doing what they have done. This is where the lines begin to blur between what is a supplement and food. Making food one of the strongest supplements.

pvl-blog-all-products.jpg

Keeping in mind that 80% of the research on probiotics has only come out in 10 years, we’re just at the beginning  discovering how the individual micro-organisms effect our body.  So what is in store for the future of food? It is exciting times witnessing the bridge between modern science and ancient methods. To consider a fermented drink, like “Kefir 11” could act as an anti-depressent, weight loss aid, brain cognition enhancing, immune boosting, hormone balancing, gut healing, skin, eye, bone, teeth boosting, it becomes more apparent that happiness comes from within, and perhaps health is just a beverage away.

WHAT IF ...

_76I0974.jpg

Last night I had an extraordinary experience, which led me to question the fabric of reality. What if, this reality is far from what you could possibly fathom?

I will save the full story for a video, to keep it short and to the point, I had an experience last night where I was being shown that I am the Creator, like you are, we are all Creators (nothing new here folks, but when you FULLY feel and understand this TRUTH it's fricken intense).

I was shown that every single teeny weeny thought MATTERS. That each singular fleeting thought is effecting the field around you, and the totality of reality

That one minuscule thought can effect someone on the other side of the world.

In fact, I watched it happened. I thought of him, then my awareness travelled across the globe and showed me how he felt that energetic thought in his unconscious field.

Everything was swirling

I become a spiral .. literally

My consciousness was a spiral, I had no body

It was full on and alot to handle but I allowed my breathe to take me

There was a voice, beautiful and calm when things started getting chaotic. I knew it was a fragment of me, maybe my Higher Self, but defiantly a part of me who was fully conscious and aware and more "together" than I was. I said "who are you" and she said "I am you, you know that, it'll be okay Eli just breathe focus on your breathe, you'll get through this like every other intense out of body experience you've ever had". This part of me, was angelic, and powerful and so beautifully serene, she had my back and was my coach.

As I swirled, being this spiral, I knew I was God. I knew that the fabric of reality is made up of only one thing - GOD - Creator energy - Universe - Energy

It was revealed to me, that the fabric of reality is simply a conversation

A conversation between GOD and GOD

You and Universe

Universe and You

Creator & Creator

.. and no, this was no plant medicine, but it was most defiantly triggered by a combination of things and was just as intense, visual and real of a strong ayahuasca journey

If you follow me, you'll know I have a long history, a full decade, of intense sleep "issues". I know now choosing to use my pain, struggle and challenge as my gift, as I continue to share my experiences beyond my body.

I appreciate love hearts as I sign of acknowledgment and support, comments or shares, you never know how one's personal journey and expression is the medicine needed for another. After all, we are all GOD having a conversation with ourselves.

What does the world need that your talent can provide?

_MG_4110.jpg

Each one of us has many gifts.
Each one of us has many talents.

I believe "gifts" are intricately embedded in our Spirit.
We are born into the world with them.

Talents, I believe come from our entire life experiences up until this moment. What we have been through, our upbringing, events, circumstances, situations, skills we have developed.

To "uncover" our purpose, what we can offer the world, the very first step is clarifying what our gifts and talents are.

Be playful with this!!

Grab a pen & paper and let it flow yo!

Our minds (ego) will try to change gears, so it is important to just let it flow, go grow.. no one needs to see this list but you, so let it rip!

If you find yourself PAUSING for toooooooo long, that's likely your mind... analysing, criticizing judging, perceiving etc

THE QUESTIONS

1) What brings you joy? (literally it ALL .. "picking flowers.. giving advice.. playing music at parties"

2) How do you make others feel? ("inspired.. deep.. light.. playful..)

3) If money was abundant to you, what would you do? - Daily .. monthly .. yearly

4) Travel back in time, what things did you LOVE to do as a kid? (dancing.. gardening.. giving gifts"

5) LIT - When was the last time you felt FULLY lit up!!? .. (being filmed dancing.. coaching.. writing1))

6) What are your deepest values? (freedom.. family.. health.. adventure.. growth.. transformation)

7) What are you willing to "struggle" for? Stand up, speak up and create action

8) What's something you'll spend time doing no matter what?

9) What is something(s) you want to spend MORE time doing? (maybe fear or distraction has limited this).

10) Walk around your home, what clues does it reveal about what you love and who you are?

11) Who is someone, that's doing what you want? .. what are they doing and how?

12) What would you write a book about... what would you give a 30min unprepared speech on?

13) Think about what you're doing now in your time. What would bringing more JOY into it look like? Would it be diversifying it, changing it, doing more or less...

14) What I am really good at is... (conversation & communication, making a room beautiful, teaching..)

15) What I imagine others say about me ...

16) After reading this, close your eyes. Place your left palm over your heart, and then right on top of that. Feel the rise and fall of your chest. The stillness in your Being. Allow yourself to gently smile. Soften the muscles in your face and gentle smile. Feeling grateful. Speak aloud or in your mind ...

"I am here to give love, be love and feel love.

I expand in abundance, success & love everyday

I celebrate my gifts & uniqueness"

_MG_4056.jpg

After completing this exercise
Play some music that energises your Spirit
Fuels your excitement and allows the Spirit to flow with grace ---  writing a list of all your gifts and talents that you carry within

AND ...maybe you'll want to use crayons, coloured pens, or just ink; from here you're opening up to all the possibilities

OPEN YOUR HEART to the UNKNOWN to the UNIMAGINABLE

This is the beginning

Your'e opening the gateway to using your gifts and talents in a way to serve the world.

Thank yourself for taking STEP ONE on the journey of self-actualization and revealing your purpose (s)

Making the decision beyond fear

Let's take a trip down memory lane

Back to the days I dived deep into the unknown

Opening my cafe

The Conscious Cafe

Those days now long in the past .. it has been 4 years (or more!)

Though the memories are rich ..

A wild journey of radical transformation, growth & challenge

From Corporate 20th Century Fox in Sydney
To opening "The Conscious Cafe" age 24
Working 16hr+ 7 days

Loving it all

Powered by SOURCE energy

The immensity of challenges and trials was beyond fathom

The exuberance of joy, laughter and tonnes of creativity was incomprehensible

I had never worked in the food/hospitality industry

But I had passion

This passion coupled with a huge amount of self-belief
That I can do/be/create anything

Allowed me to TRUST in myself

And trust the support of the cosmos

So I did .. I opened the doors to what was originally going to be a small cafe which ended in

a) full house, sometimes 15 people in a line and seating up to 80 people
b) 15 staff of all shapes and sizes! Front of house/kitchen/woofers/gardeners
c) A huge portion of our produce from our own organic farm
d) Ending in being hugely successful in all ways

It became a mecca for so many souls

A hub for the community

A celebration of healthy vibrant living

From professional football teams to dedicated yogis from UKI - The Conscious Cafe attracted it all

I am reflecting on this as I embark on the next journey to USA - somewhat of a snap decision

Why?

Because

I remember

That fear is living

That I choose to move in the DIRECTION of fear and the unknown

Because

On the other side of fear

Is

EXPANSION

EXPERIENCE

ALIVENESS

Make the decisions and take the leap

Remaining in indecision
Will keep you "stuck"

It is "all" just a choice away

What is ALIVE in me .. frustration

Frustration. It is at the forefront in this moment.

The feeling of annoyance that repeated habits & behaviours of self-indulgence permeate. Beyond that feeling, what is alive in me is EXCITEMENT and unfolding clarity of that which is yet to come in this next weeks and months.

Bali. USA. Retreats. Workshops. New Love. Adventure. Collaboration. Creations. Mentoring. Friendships. Unearthing. Renewing. Celebrating.

What is alive in me is the feeling of trust, that the path of purpose of my call to highest service is unravelling. What is alive in me, is a feeling of questioning my identity, how I present myself to the world and how I am perceived by you. The congruency or incongruency of my truest essence

Loving what is, shifting, sifting, lifting, morphing, melting inside of me.

A change in season, a change in heart

Mmm.. What I am truly loving is this expression of freedom that I embody each day, this remembrance that nothing and no-one can gift me "freedom". That I am, have been, and will continue to be freedom. That I choose that.

Loving the ebb and flow of new insights and discoveries, but are they really new?

Or just a remembering... an uncovering..

All is sacred, this flickering candle, this citrus aroma, this lingering chai spices in my mouth, all sacred.

It is only through awareness that the sacred is illuminated.

Awareness is the seed of all transformation

The moment in time the mind sinks into the rhythm of the heart, no longer taunted by the past or distracted by the future, but here, now, in this sacred moment where all and nothing meet. Stillness saturates my every breathe.

To traverse this inner earth is the journey we all seek

There are, have been and will continue to be, too many eyes that search outwards. That which we seek, that sense of adventure, freedom and security is here now. The gateway is through this breathe.
The gateway towards the depths of your soul is waiting.
This beckoning, this call, will never cease.

Its song may turn to whispers, it may turn to shrieks and cries or may continue as a gentle hum in the background of your life.

Turn your gaze inwards and allow the journey to begin.

Ahh! That is the great paradox! The journey begun long ago, with your first breathe.
It is deeper/higher/inner/upper journey that we speak of.

The move away from distractions. Move inwards.

Plant the seeds of commitment. The Divine Commitment to Self.

Be cautious to remember that seeds require fertilisation. So set your intentions, but don't turn your back. Nurture them, encourage them, give them the warmth of the sun, the nourishment of the rain. They will sprout. Trust.

Do you practice daily 'sacred'?

What is 'sacred'?

In your daily life, how do you experience sacred?

Each day I create the space to experience a sense of reverence.

This is where I experience the ‘sacred’

Gratitude, appreciation, awe, inspiration and stillness greet me.

Like dear old friends that have traversed this rugged earth for lifetimes with me.

Make-Love-Watercolor-Series-nr.-69-595x442.jpg

Some days this looks like a walk on the beach, down a nature trail, journaling or sharing tea ceremony with myself.

It may be
dancing
breathing
making love
shaking
singing
Surfing

20160403_091456.jpg

It is not the “how” that matters.

There is however, only one gateway to enter into ‘the sacred’.

That gateway is through the state of awareness.

Bringing forth gratitude.

Birthing reverence

Shifting from the gross to the subtle

From the tangible to the intangible

From past and future to presence

Gratitude, inspiration, awe and stillness will await you

To participate and experience ‘sacredness’ daily is the
greatest gift to grant yourself

I would absolutely love to hear what you currently do

or would like to start doing in your daily life

to feel that state of reverence, connection to sacred - welcome to leave a comment in the section below.. or share with a friend x

Snippets from the interview:

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your family, what you do and what inspired you to lead a healthier lifestyle?

Hi I'm Elisha, from Byron Bay Australia.
My health journey has been a trek across a savage landscape. From chronic depression, gut health issues and unfathomable grief. But this journey has shaped me to where I land today. I'm a transformational life coach, holistic nutritionist, yoga teacher, consultant and speaker. I work with passionate people who want to transform their health, life and spirit through action-based strategies, movement, mindset and meditation (read more)

What inspired you to start The Conscious Creations?

The Conscious Creations was inspired after the closure of The Conscious Cafe. It has been 3 years since the cafe closed and in that time I have globe-trotted, researching health, wellness strategies and aligning my purpose.Albeit the cafe closed, I have continued creating in the kitchen and sharing on instagram (read more)

What tips would you give to someone who is just starting to make changes to their health and wellness?

If you feel overwhelmed by all the information, take a breath. Step back. Drop into your Heart. Follow your intuition. Yes, there is insurmountable information out there from detoxing heavy metals, parasites, bacterial overgrowth, fasting, herbs, mindset etc. But, you dont need to know it all at once.It is better you take one step at  a time, then get overwhelmed and go "into shut down mode". We are all on a Health journey, a Spiritual journey, a Life journey and a Soul journey. Just breath. Come back to your intuition and your own inner knowing.

Superfood Raw Strawberry Chocolate Tart w/ ginger spiced crust

Ingredients

BASE:

1 1/2 cup walnuts nuts
1/2c cashews
1/2c macadamias (*all up you want 2  cups of nuts so choose whatever you like)
1 tablespoon almond nut butter
1 cup coconut flakes
½ cup dates, pitted
5 tablespoons cacao powder
1 tablespoon coconut oil
2 teaspoons ginger powder
1 teaspoon cardamon powder (optional)
1 teaspoon mesquite (optional)
1tsp vanilla powder
2 pinches coarse sea salt

FILLING:

1 cup cashews, soaked in water for 2-8 hours
¼ cup nut milk
16 fresh strawberries or 1 1/2 punnets (organic!) or defrost frozen organic berries
¼ cup + 2 tablespoons 100% pure maple syrup
¼ cup + 3 tablespoons cacao powder
¼ cup + 5 tablespoons cacao butter
1 tablespoon almond nut butter
2 tablespoons coconut oil
2 teaspoons ginger powder (boost the metabolism & anti-inflammatory)
1 teaspoon maca powder (balances the hormones and is adaptogenic)
2 teaspoon mesquite powder (high in minerals & stabilizes blood sugar levels)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 pinches coarse sea salt

Instructions

BASE:

Place only 1/2 cup of walnuts in food processor and pulse. You are after a coarse ground nut not fine. We are going to add this in later for texture. Remove from food processor and leave in a bowl.
Add the rest of the nuts into the food processor and blend till they become a fine meal.
Add coconut flakes and blend till fine.
Add cacao, ginger, cardamon, mesquite, salt and coconut oil, blend to combine.
Add dates last one by one as motor runs, blend till well combined.
Now add in the walnuts you pulsed in the beginning. Knead through the mix with your hands.
Line a tart tin with baking paper, then transfer base mixture and press into tin. Use your fingers to press the mixture right into the grooves, and press out evenly. This process can take me sometime as I like to get an even surface base and strong thick side.  Set in freezer.

FILLING:

Drain the soaked cashews and add them to a blender with the nut milk, maple syrup and strawberries. Blend till smooth. High-speed blender recommended.
Add all other ingredients and blend till combined. Be sure the coconut oil and cacao butter is mixed thoroughly through the batter. This may require you to stop the blender, use a big spoon and hand mix it in, the resume blending (repeat if necessary).
Pour mixture over the base and set in the freezer.
Decorate with edible flowers and fresh strawberries to serve, keep in the fridge or freezer.

Blessings to you all

THANK YOU for the support and love

Life After Death - A Souls Journey

Laying in bed, darkness pressing up against my breath, silver moonlight pours in from the cracks of timber blinds.

In the stillness of this Full Moon night my heart shatters. Wondering “where she is? Is this real? Has this really happened?”

Tidal waves of tears cascade down my cheeks. Crumbling at the core I feel myself dissolve and disintegrate in the black of the night.

I have always believed that this physical world is just a mere fragment of the whole. That we are Souls entering into physical bodies to have an earthly experience and when we leave, our Soul continues on.

Where? I don’t know. How? I don’t know. It has never mattered, as I've known this to be true.

I have speculated, mediated and dreamt of this my entire life.
Even since I was a young girl I didn’t feel “apart” of this earthy realm. My lucid dreams would take me elsewhere, into parallel worlds inconceivable to these human minds. I never felt like I had “landed here” with two feet on the earth. I never felt "ready" to be here.

I have my ideas about the Souls journey. Ideas I love to discuss with family & friends. Of human galactic heritage, of our Souls presence here. The reason Why.

However, that is not what I am going to share with you today.

What happened on this dark night was something rare. In fact, beyond rare. Something I have never done before.

I questioned. I questioned my beliefs around life after death.

I have always considered myself someone who questions and challenges ALL my own beliefs, opinions and views, yet I realised I have never challenged one of my most inner core beliefs.

Life after death.

In the darkness of this night, I sunk deeper into the valleys of aching pain,

“This is it” …
“This is it” …
“This is it” …

The pounding of my heart hissing

“When we go. We go”

“Our Souls are a complex orchestration of our mind, intellect, emotions, nature, and nurture that creates our personalities and when we die. We die”

This thought made itself known, loud and clear. The echo’s of this “Truth” rattled my body, tearing me apart. Leaving me untethered, unclear, confused and scrabbling for what is the “Truth”.

The murmurs of thoughts became whispers, but not pleasant whispers, hauntingly dark undertones.

“Life is now.. we have just this one life... and when we die, we die.. our bodies go to the Earth as we are reabsorbed”

“Our experiences of anything supernatural is the electromagnetic field of our super-conscious manifested from form to matter, nothing more.. Just like the Northern Lights, when bioelectrical currents converge with particles, creating something that looks “supernatural”.”

With the continuation of these thoughts the darkness penetrated my every cell.
Gasping for small pockets of air was a struggle and one I wanted to end.

Sitting up in bed I cast my legs aside dangling from the bed in lifeless form. Slowly standing and opening the door to the bathroom a strangely beautiful yet eerie image was before me. The large timber bathroom with high ceilings had been engulfed in darkness,  the blackness swamped the entirety of the space.

Yet the solo timber chair was saturated in white moonlight.

The Full Moon was positioned perfectly, the white light making its presence known through the ceiling skylight. The brightest white light bathed the chair.

Without thought, I was magnetised, as I sat down my weary burnt-out body.
My face fell into the collapse of my hands, tears dripping, heart throbbing breath barely in existence.

The deepest desire within me was one that frightens many. Wanting to shed the pains, grief, loss, longings of this life . To escape. To end.

My life without my sister is a thought my mind can not comprehend.
A thought.. a truth… I can not bare.
A fact my Soul will not accept.

Pulling my hands away from my face, to cast my eyes onto my palms, the contrast of the white light made itself so evident with the blackness of the surrounds.

This physical body of mine. A vessel of pain. A physical form, impoverished, aged beyond its years.

Breathing the light into my lungs. Casting shadows behind me.

Unexpectedly, a stillness washes over.

The beating of my heart finds the rhythm in the sound of silence.
The unwavering stillness that stands steadfast inside of me.
I whisper into the night, “give me a sign”.. ..what is the truth?

I go back to bed, still with a tormented mind but with stillness in heart.

Yet once there again I am unsettled and pain penetrates sinking its claws into the depths of my core.

I walk over to my shelf looking for the stack of photos of my sister. Yet I can not find it. Then, as if on “auto-pilot” my hands reach down to pick up an unknown book I have never opened.

Walking back to bed, I close my eyes and open the book in the middle. With no intention.

PAUSE….

Rewinding back 3 hours, I was on my phone. I opened up an app to create a quote. I have only ever posted 1) my own words into a quote 2) a quote that holds importance to me. Yet this app had automatically generated a quote..

Make the Choice
Take the Chance
Create the Change

Reading this seemed incredible on pointe and without much thought I posted it.

FAST FORWARD…

Sitting in bed, I opened the book. The words on the page jumped out at me like a thundering crack of lightening. The title:

“Make the Choice”

As my eyes poured over these words, I began reading and within the first paragraph, the exact words were printed that I had shared only hours ago…

Make the Choice
Take the Chance
Create the Change

My lips gently curled, a giggle came forth. I bow my head and whisper “thank you”.

I continue reading and the chapter reveals a story of a wolf and a crow. The wolf sees the world around him as the “truth” yet the crow takes him on a journey to reveal the spiritual dimensions. The colours of light not seen in this physical realm, the Souls journey,  the TRUTH.

I read this as an invitation. To remember what I have always known deep inside. To regain strength in faith and stoke the fire that was momentarily dampened

Though my Heart continues to ache in unfathomable ways. There is a knowingness deep inside. That one day we will dance again. Though each day gets harder,  each day a day further away from you, I see you and feel you. And I remember.

When we are conceived a life-force comes through. The Soul that yearns for evolution and growth chooses to be here. In physical form. When the physical body dies, the CHOICE has been instigated once again. The Choice of the Soul of where to journey next. For some, it may be back into this Earthly realm where they can continue their "work", continuing to evolve, or the Soul may choose another journey. Another path of evolution. The chance or opportunity allows each Soul to have free-will. You choose. Now change is happening.

The meaning of change is "to substitute one for another; to make (something) other than what it was" or "to become different", from Old French changier "to change, alter; exchange, switch," ..  I see this as a form of alchemy. Death is alchemy.  To me, this is a transmutation of matter into a Universal source energy, returning "home" to the innate essence of who we are, free from the constraints and restrictions of the body.

And the circle continues. The Divine Dance continues. Choice - Chance - Change

Teachings of Choice – Raven Medicine

"When choice emerges in our physical existence, we have an opportunity. Choice is a form of the perpetual circle, which means it is constant Change. You can’t have Choice without Change and you can't have Change without Choice. They belong to the sacred movement of four, which is Reason.

In that sacred circle, opportunity comes forth. Reason brings about Choice: Choice brings about Change, and Change gives you chance…… It is a dance.

Choice is a medicine, and if you apply it to your life, you give yourself a doorway of movement any time you need it”

If you don’t like something in life, make a Choice. Choose, which is a Ceremony, and Change happens, and that’s a chance – you have an opportunity at that point.

Life is constant Change, Choice, chance and reason. Choice never stops: it is perpetual: it is constant.”

BONNY JANE YARRINGTON

In the dark of the night
I was held in womb of Moonlight
Wanting to take flight

The mind reckoned with the depths of reality
No longer seeing the beauty
Only the life of duty

Confusions of these illusions
Delusions and diffusions
Casting shadows of doubt
Shattered soul ready to breakout

Stillness in the motions
Tidal waves in  emotions
Begin to surrender to these notions
Hoping to find the stillness in the ocean

Full Moonlight
Guide me right
Take away this fight
It is time to take flight

Yet this choice to continue
Within you
Is what I’ll choose to go through

I thank you
For the gift of remembrance
Moving into transcendence

In honour of your Soul journey
I choose mine

Now I align

I HONOUR YOUR SOULS JOURNEY

YOUR EVOLUTION

Water Purification Ceremony

A couple of months ago in Bali I attended a sacred water blessing, facilitated by a local balinese healer.

This Water Purification was not just a "nice experience" it was fricken intense!! Some women experienced shaking, convulsions, screaming, tears and laughter as the Medicine Women approached us singularly placing her hands on us and whispering words into our ears for just us to hear.

The water is fresh spring water that bubbles up deep from the earth, then pours forth from 7 portholes that represent the 7 chakras, "energy centres" within the human body. After a 1hr drive through lush green terrain, swerving around bends, dodging chickens and chaos we arrived at the temple. Welcomed by the priests we dressed in the correct Hindu attire, covering our bodies in sarongs. The steep set of steps, carved from stone led us women down to the water. Taking a moment of reverence before stepping into the water the Medicine Women led us to sit down facing the wall where water gushed from.

Sitting down in the water, the brightly coloured sarongs danced around us in the shallow waters, the pungent smell of incense billowed around us. The chanting began as the Medicine Women welcomed us into this holy space, receiving permission for us women to be there and acknowledging the spirit of the water.

What happened next was unique to each women.

I slowly sunk heavier into my body, relaxing my bones and surrendering to the water. Tears flowed silently as my heart crack open, like flower petals blooming. Thoughts and visions from the past flashed to mind. Truly unexpected visions. I saw myself as the sweet, innocent girl that I was.  Unexpected images of my first boyfriend, my first sexual intimate experience loudly demanded my attention.

Why were these visions coming forth? It was very sudden and unexpected.

The water continued to rush with ferocious savageness, which seemed to get louder becoming more deafening.  Yet the waters surrounded me, were as placid & gentle as a mothers embrace. I saw myself as the body between two forces. The compassionate waters of feminine grace and the wild untamed waters of the masculine.

With my visions became insights. Greater awareness and perception about my past. The innocence of the girl I was, that was taken from me. That I allowed to be taken. I cried. Asking this sweet girl to forgive me, feeling I had betrayed her, let her down. As the tears became heavier, the sobs sunk deeper. The Medicine Women approached me, placing her hands on my shoulders and heart and whispered "let it go"...

A tidal wave of emotions ripped through my body as anger shook my core. Moving beyond the visions grief sucked me into a vortex beyond this realm of existence

Out of no where, a primal scream burst through the shadows of sorrow. As in chorus, all women began to purge. Through tears, sound and words the cleansing took place. All the stagnant energy, stored in my mind, body, heart, stored in the cellular memory was released. The water spirit was cleansing.

This process continued for over an hour. With more visions, shaking and insights becoming clearer. Then has the purging settled and calmness renewed the Medicine Women approached us individually and blessed us, encouraging us to now drink this water and let it pass through all your chakras.

I stood beneath each of the 7 fountains of water, allowing the water to cascade with significant weight and power upon my body. It pounded me with the potency of it's power.

One by one each women moved gracefully from the waters. I was last to leave and took my time beneath each chakra water fountain. Finishing with the crown chakra where I tilted my head back slightly so the water gushed onto my 3rd eye, my pineal gland, the seat of consciousness.

Bowing deeply I stepped beyond the waters. A "zapping" feeling shot through my body! Both feet on the carved stone, my body was electrified! The "zap" disappeared as fast as it jolted me, and what was left was a feeling I had "just landed". Slowly I ascended each step, but with such deep presence, stillness and spaciousness. It was a slow walk up. Gently my feet becoming more stable and strong I saw each step as moving towards the Women I am today. Carrying within me, the sweet innocent girl I was, and still am. Carrying her in my Heart.

Reaching the final step, the sun pierced through the dark dampness and kissed my face. Closing my eyes, opening my palms to face the warmth of the sun, my body completely softened. A feeling of deep relaxation, of calmness pervaded every cell in my body. The spring water, that bubbled up deep from the earth, was now within my body, circulating around, breathing in new life. I felt "plugged in" to the land. Bali is now apart of me, as I am of apart of her.

The silence and peacefulness surrounded us all, then Ibu, the Medicine Women brought out gifts of coconut water, fresh beetroot juice and homemade traditional snacks, wrapped in banana leaf for us to enjoy and settled back into our bodies.

In our sharings, the experience was vastly different, yet all similar to another.
Before the ceremony I had no expectation, but was gifted with a rich memory I will carry with me forever.

In many cultures around the world humans have sought physical relief, emotional healing and spiritual renewal by immersing themselves in water.

I have discovered that we can by "lead" by another into a healing space. But it is us, you, who conduct the healing. It is your sub-conscious mind who makes the decision to let go, surrender and release the stagnant energy blocks. So often, we seek external "things" "healers" to help us. They can help take your blindfolds off, hold your hand lovingly and show you where the path is. But you, my dear fellow human, are the one who is required to walk the path.

All the worlds strength and power rests inside of you.

After many requests, I am compiling a Conscious Traveller guide for Bali with all my experiences & recommendations "off the beaten Bali track" and where the real gems of magic exist..  I feel compelled to share, so that others can have deeper, richer experience

My love affair with Bali continues.. a land full of contrast, contradiction, beauty and allure. The Balinese live in deep reverence for a spiritual life, steeped in tradition and ritual this culture demonstrates depth and wisdom. I am deeply grateful for the many magical transformative experiences I have had and will continue to do so, on this magical island of Bali.

Detox with infused water

Water is key to many basic physiological functions; water keeps your bloodstream fluid, moisturises your skin, and even helps eliminate waste.

Whilst we can utilise incredible herbs, supplements, strategies, fasting etc to detox (which are all fantastic depending on what results you are after) sometimes simple is effective as it's achievable for many.

So instead of searching for the most radical approach why not introduce some infused water into your life.

Infused water? Basically infusing your water with fruits, vegetables and herbs. Seems a little simply right?! Well yeah.. it is..

It might not create a radically detoxing of heavy metals or the like, but it certainly is a simple small step in the direction of detox.

WATER - the sacred element that makes us US! Consider your body is a vessel of water.

Many people just don't drink enough of this precious element. So infusing your water will add key beneficial nutrients and make you drink more.

INGREDIENTS TO INFUSE YOUR WATER

Try grapefruit, orange, lime & lemon. All delicious and all high in Vitamin C.
Or throw in some ginger, mint, oregano, basil, rosemary for a all host of medicinal benefits.
If you have a sensitive belly (IBS, leaky gut etc) try aloe vera, apple cidar vinegar, cinnamon or get colourful flavonoids with organic berries, watermelon, cucumber and apple (organic a must).

This is super simply folks. It doesn't require much effort, maybe a tad of creativity and intuition to feel into what your body needs.

Try these recipes:::

1 Litre of clean water (spring water is the best option as it already contains natural minerals)

::: Herbal Helper :::

1 spring of rosemary
1 or 2 dried or fresh oregano leaves (or essential oil of oregano ensure it is food grade)
5 mint leaves

::: Digestion Booster :::

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp cinnamon
A dash of good quality sea or Himalayan salt

::: Cooling Cucumber :::

1/4 sliced cucumber (organic organic organic)
Sprig of rosemary
Squeeze of lemon/lime
Wedge of orange

::: Strawberry Basil :::

3 strawberries (organic as they are heavily sprayed)
Squeeze of lemon and/or lemon wedges
Small handful of Basil

::: Extra Weight be Gone ::

Squeeze/slices of grapefruit
Squeeze/wedges of lemon or lime
1/4 fresh chilli

::: Energise Now :::

Ginseng root or open a capsule in water
Pu Erh Tea (incredible!! I will write a blog on this)
1/4 vanilla bean
2 drops stevia

Fuck it...F*** off F*** Yeah

Urban Dictionary: fuck = Can be used to modify any word for more passion (fuck yeah!)

I do apologise is this offends anyone, but honesty, why would you be offended? Does it challenge your "accepted status quo"?
What meaning do you bring to this word?
Can you see how that is YOUR subjective meaning. If you feel any resistance -  GREAT - this is what I love.. resistance is a great opportunity to "check-in" with yourself, observe your reaction, your thoughts and witness them. That is all. Just witness.

Growth and resistance co-exist. Feeling anxious, resistance, judgment?

Awesome growth is around the corner!

Fuck is one of the most dynamic, magically words

Fuck YEAH - Saying a big YES to life
Fuck no - Saying a big NO when something doesn't serve you
Fuck off - The next step if saying no is not quiet enough
Fucking YES - Passion

(I am not suggesting you verbally use these words. I am showing you how we can respond to life.. with PASSION & clarity.. however if you choose to verbally use them, then fuck yeah!).

Often fear holds us back, we start feeling anxious or unsure what direction to take. We are totally inundated with options. Opportunities around every corner. Whilst this sounds amazing (and it is) it also has it downfalls. It can create overwhelm and confusion. We become paralyzed. We dont make a move. We dont make any decision.
We become lost.

So I invite you to step into one of these 3 options:
Fuck off
Fuck it
Fuck yeah

Make ANY decision! A YES or a NO. Once you make that decision COMMIT to it with purpose. Then you are moving, not stagnant in indecision, you then can continue on your journey and free yourself from paralysis and continue to grow on your journey.

RAW CAKE That fights cancer

Aloha
From Kauai - Hawaii The RAINBOW Island or what I like to call Natures Wonderland. This place is brimming with exotic super fruits - one's that I have only ever tried in a superfood powder. So I was so extremely excited to try the REAL DEAL picked straight from the tree to create this amazing cake.

Hawaii is a foodies paradise... there is no doubting that!

I am deeply inspired by the these super medicinal fruits, to name a new there is noni, soursop, lilikoi, breadfruit, acerola berry. These all are growing in abundance here... and the BEST part is many of them grow in the wild! This soursop came from Moloaa Organikka farm where being 100% organic is there purpose.

So I decided to make a cake inspired by the medicinal SOURSOP fruit.

Now, don't let the name fool you this is one helluva delicious sweet tangy fruit and cancer fighting too!

Soursop I love you.... You tick all the box's for me! Insanely delicious & super healthy!

I met up with one of the best raw dessert queens from LA, Julia Corbett, who makes the most inspiring raw mandala pie's bursting with healing properties. We spent the afternoon sitting in the park sipping on locally made Kauai Kombucha I came back to my cottage supercharged and wanting to make the most healing, medicinal raw cake imaginable. So here it is.

Raw Probiotic Soursop & Blackberry Cake

Raw Probiotic Soursop & Blackberry Cake

Base:
1 cup desiccated coconut
2/3 cup walnuts (activated)
1/2 cup macadamias
2TB coconut butter
5 Medjool dates
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1 tsp honey (or maple syrup, brown rice syrup, yacon)
1 1/2 tspfresh lime juice
1TB water (clean filtered water)

Filling:

1 1/2 cup cashews (soaked for minimum 3hours)
1 1/2 cup coconut milk
1 cup soursop flesh (watch the seeds they are sneaky & try and work there way in there)
1/4 cup + 1TB sweetened condensed coconut milk OR any sweetener of your choice
1TB fresh lime juice
2TB coconut kefir
1/4 cup coconut butter (you will have to melt this down if you are in a cold climate
1/4 cup coconut oil
NOTE: If you want a berry colour layer on top you will need a hanful of blackberries or any berries you choose)

METHOD:
Grind the coconut, walnuts, macadamias, sunflower seeds in the food processor. Add in the dates and pulse until broken down completely.

Add coconut butter, lime juice, honey and water until the dough becomes sticky enough to mould int pie dish. I like to line my pie dish with coconut oil or sprinkle with fine coconut to make removing the cake from the mould easier once set.

For the filling add soaked cashews, coconut milk, soursop, sweetened condensed coconut (or sweetener of your choice), lime juice, coconut kefir to the blender (you will need a high-speed blender). Blend until ultra silky & smooth.

Add coconut butter and coconut oil to the mix and blend until well-incorporated. Wahlah!
Now pour 3/4 of the mix into the crust and allow to set in the fridge or freezer for a couple of hours. In the interim, blend the blackberries with the left-over mix to create a vibrant maroon colour. Pour this on top once the bottom layer is set. Keep in fridge overnight or freezer for a couple of hours then move to the fridge to set.

ENJOY the healing qualities of soursop and feel your body come ALIVE with a dessert that boosts your happiness & healthy
